Functional Blood Testing
I will take a small sample of blood from your finger, dab the blood on a slide, and place it under a microscope for you to view during your visit. I will be looking for indicators of your overall health including nutrient status, digestive tract function (absorption and digestion), hormone balance, toxicity and microorganism overgrowth (bacteria, yeast, fungus and parasites). Addressing these issues that are visually found in the blood will help you understand the process of bettering your own health.
FBT is a tool used to demonstrate how your dietary and lifestyle habits may be influencing your health and where appropriate adjustments may be necessary within these areas in order to optimize health and prevent onset of disease.
Your blood comes into contact with almost every cell in your body. The purpose of the blood is to carry nutrients and oxygen to cells and carry waste away from cells. If we understand why the blood isn't healthy then we can understand why other cells in the body aren't healthy and focus on improving the quality of your blood which will improve the quality of every cell throughout your body.
When getting conventional blood tests done, the sample of blood is dead and altered with anticoagulant by the time it is analysed. Functional Blood testing does two different style of tests. 1) Live blood where the sample is unaltered and viewed under a microscope within seconds after taking the sample to assess the conditions of the blood cells, plasma, microbial activities and anomalies not normally reviewed or requested in traditional blood tests. 2) Dried Blood test or also known as Oxidative Stress test, where the sample dries and the coagulated blood is analyzed. This test can reveal signs of degeneration by identifying where you are holding toxins in your body that can increase your risk of degenerative disease.
When needed, I will refer you to a physician to get further testing done.
Disclaimer: This is not a tool used to diagnose disease. It is used as a preventative approach to healthcare.
